Rise Against, Jozi Zoo
The band was recognized for the positive influence their message has in exposing wrongs and creating awareness of animal rights. They were exposed to some of the conservation work happening at the Jozi zoo by a group of very passionate zoo staff. It was wonderful to hear that the zoo is not cages for animals dragged from their environments, but a save environment managed by people who have only the best intentions.
This event was the brainchild of David Devo Oosthuizen. I personally tip my hat to Devo for making this mission. Props to the man who didn't just sit on his arse and flap his lips.
